As a patient, you have the right to choose a physical therapy clinic that is right for you.
If you have Medicare, you can pick any Medicare provider. Otherwise, it depends on
your insurance. Please do not hesitate to contact our office for help.
In most cases, insurance covers physical therapy. Our office will be happy to assist in contacting your insurance company and determining your coverage based on your individual policy. If you do not have insurance, give us a call and discuss what options we can offer you.
Sometimes physical therapy is uncomfortable. However, the therapists have treatments available that can help minimize pain. As muscles are stretched and exercised, it is only natural to experience some discomfort. As therapy progresses, range of motion increases, strength and soreness diminishes. In general, patients feel better following therapy and look forward to the next session.
Physical Therapists are licensed health care professionals who are experts in musculoskeletal dysfunctions. Therapists are trained to analyze movement and identify abnormal mechanics. From this assessment, a physical therapist will treat a dysfunction with manual skills. That will accelerate the recovery process.
We will discuss your medical history, medications and what your current problems are. We will then perform some simple tests to help determine your exact needs. Lastly, we will discuss treatment options and the best course for you to meet your needs and goals.
You will need a picture ID, insurance card, prescription. You should also have a list of current and prior medical problems, current medications and problems you are experiencing.
Your first appointment will last approximately 60 minutes. Your following appointments will last approximately 30 to 60 minutes depending on your condition and treatments.
This is difficult to determine. There are several factors that determine your length of care such as insurance, condition and cost. We will work to provide you with the best results considering all these factors.
The purpose of physical therapy is to help you return to active life as quickly as possible. Therapy strives to reduce pain, increase flexibility, range of motion, and function, build strength, and correct posture.
